Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs the most common birth defect in our country. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to making a difference. Our mission is clear - we aim to raise funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation in its quest to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding groundbreaking research.

Our Story

We’re walking in the Congenital Heart Walk this year to honor two very special people in our family: our daughter, Madi, who was born with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve, and my brother, Tyler, who was born with Down syndrome and bravely underwent open-heart surgery.

Congenital heart defects are the most common birth defect, yet so many families face them with little awareness or understanding from the world around them. Our journey has shown us the strength, courage, and resilience of those living with CHD and the importance of research, support, and community.

Why We Walk
We walk for Madi’s future and for Tyler’s courage. We walk for all the heart warriors who fight every day, and for the families who stand beside them. Funds raised through the Congenital Heart Walk support life-saving research, advocacy, and programs that improve the lives of children and adults with CHD.
