Tampa Congenital Heart Walk

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am participating in the Congenital Heart Walk to support the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.

So here is where I tell you my story in the most concise way possible. I will do my best.

At a visit to my family doctor around age 3, Dr. Barrows heard a heart murmur he was not completely comfortable with. He advised my parents to take me to the closest teaching hospital, The University of Iowa Children's Hospital. (Yup! The one where all the Iowa Hawkeye football players and fans stop to wave to the kids who are in the hospital that is across the street during each home game!) There, after 5 years of visits and misdiagnosises, the brilliant specialists recommended doing a cardiac catheterization to obtain additional information on what was going on inside my tiny heart.
