My son, Axel, was born with hypoplastic right heart syndrome 8 years ago - basically, only the left side of his heart is functional. With two open heart surgergies and the amazing care provided at Nationwide Children's hospital - Axel is doing amazing. We know he will face more challenges as his body gets bigger, but we are so grateful for the research The Children's Heart Foundation helps make possible. Research is where is starts and we are hopeful that Axel, and ALL heart warriors, will continue to benefit from the advancements made.
