Western Michigan Congenital Heart Walk

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am participating in the Congenital Heart Walk to support the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.

Our son Orrie was born with Aortic Stenosis in January of this year. Unfortunately we didn't know about his diagnosis until he was 2 days old. This shouldn't be happening still. I hate that I will always wonder if his life would have been less traumatic if we would have found out while he was still in utero during his routine 20 week ultrasound. I can't change the past but I can help improve the future. I hope as advancement's are made less and less children will be disadvantaged in that way. We’ve been at the hospital for 7 months now and as hard as it has been it’s also given us the opportunity to learn about the advancements going on and research being done to give kids and adults with CHD even better chances at a normal life. Very cool stuff that will no doubt make a huge difference for us and other heart families everywhere.
