Tampa Congenital Heart Walk

Hello, my name is Yonaika and I am the mother of a wonderful boy who was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Matías was diagnosed since I was 5 months pregnant with this heart condition (HLHS), and has already undergone 2 open heart surgeries. The first surgery 2 days after birth and the second at 5 months old. He is currently 2 years old and is undergoing studies for the third cardiac surgery (the Fontan).

My family and I are doing this fundraiser to support "The Children's Heart Foundation" who have dedicated themselves for more than 26 years to funding the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects (CHD) in children like my son Matias. We want to spread the word and raise awareness to further help alleviate the daily difficulties of these little warriors and their families.

Mati has fought from day one to be a healthy child. Achieving it thanks to the support of our family and specially to the resources that hospitals and organizations like this one have provided us.
