Hi friends! Let us tell you why we're so passionate about Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) research.

Our family moved to Weddington to be close to Levine Children's Hospital for our son, Greyson. He has a very rare genetic syndrome called Floating Harbor. Floating Harbor has many symptoms/side effects and one of them is CHD. He was born with Tetralogy of Fallot that was undiagnosed prenatally and a total shock. At three months old, Greyson had open heart surgery. His heart is currently doing great (although he will need future surgeries) thanks to the amazing doctors, medicines, and research for CHDs.

We're so excited to be participating in the Charlotte Heart Walk for the third year! We will be walking in honor of our badass little boy who is stronger than anyone we've ever met.

Every 15 minutes, a baby in this country is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs America's most common birth defect. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to raising funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation's mission: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding the most promising research.
