Thank you for visiting our team page! Our goal is to create awareness and drive support for congenital heart defect research. It is also to honor two family members who have been affected by CHDs. Our dear cousin Nevin was diagnosed at birth with Tetralogy of Fallot. He is now a healthy and thriving 28-year-old who teaches us every day about purpose and passion in life. Our daughter Norah was diagnosed in utero with Tetralogy of Fallot and has successfully undergone her first surgery at 4 months old. She is now a healthy 7-month-old who teaches us every day to be joyful in our spirits.

Nevin and Norah share a common bond, but their care and surgical experiences differed. This is mainly because of the research over the last 30 years that has driven changes to diagnosis, surgical intervention, and long-term care. CHD survivors now have a multidisciplinary approach to support physical, social, and cognitive development. Yet there is still so much left to learn, and continued research is critical to support CHD survivors in living a long and high-quality life.

Every 15 minutes, a baby in this country is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs America's most common birth defect. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to raising funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation's mission: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding the most promising research.
