Our daughter, Sedona, was born on October 28, 2024, making quite the entrance. What we didn’t know at the time was that she had a congenital heart defect called Pulmonary Valve Stenosis. After a challenging start—including a NICU stay and a balloon valvuloplasty procedure at just 7 weeks old—she’s now thriving. Each growth spurt will show whether her heart valve is keeping up, and while there’s a chance she may need future procedures or surgeries, her outlook is positive.
Her first year of life was full of challenges and joy, and we are SO grateful to be celebrate Sedona's healthy heart at present. The research funded by the Children’s Heart Foundation could directly impact her future, as well as the futures of countless other children with congenital heart defects.
This year, The Children's Heart Foundation celebrates 30 incredible years of funding research that saves lives and changes futures. My commitment to making a difference has led me to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk — for three decades, CHF has been the leading force behind the treatments and surgical advances that help children with congenital heart defects thrive.
It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward the next 30 years of hope. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation's crucial mission—advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research that improves survival rates, reduces complications, and helps Heart Warriors celebrate more birthdays than ever before.
