For Miles

Our son Miles was born with a congenital heart defect that we didn’t know existed until after he passed away. Like most parents, we believed everything was okay. We trusted that if something was wrong, someone would find it. We never imagined that the hardest truth about our son’s heart would only be discovered after we had already lost him.

Congenital heart disease affects far more families than most people realize, yet so many people, like us, don’t know about it until it becomes personal.

We walk for Miles because awareness matters. We walk in the hope that more research, better screening, and stronger advocacy will help protect other babies and families.

If sharing Miles’ story helps even one child be diagnosed earlier or helps one family avoid the heartbreak we carry, then his life continues to make a difference in the world.

Miles will always be our reason to keep walking.
