Maeve was born with a rare congenital heart defect called TAPVR (Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return). At just 6 days old, she underwent open heart surgery to repair her heart. Thanks to the incredible care she received and her own resilience, Maeve is now home and recovering—but our journey through the world of CHD has only just begun.
Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs the most common birth defect in the country. The Congenital Heart Walk supports The Children’s Heart Foundation, whose mission is to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs through critical research. That research gives families like ours hope—and babies like Maeve a fighting chance.
