Washington, D.C. Congenital Heart Walk

I’m not just walking this year—I’m walking for my life, and for my son’s. I was born with a congenital heart defect (CHD), and thanks to life-saving surgery, I survived. Decades later, I became a mother to Alexander—my beautiful, joyful little boy—who was also born with CHD. Watching him go through what I once did was one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced. But thanks to research and care made possible by donors like you, Alexander is thriving today.

That’s why I’m proud to serve as Co-Chair of the DC Congenital Heart Walk and why I hold the title of Mrs. DC America 2025 with a mission: to raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Heart Foundation, the only organization solely dedicated to funding CHD research.
