In May 2024, our son Ramsden (“Ram”) came into this world already a little warrior. Even before he was born, we learned he had two significant congenital heart defects—Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV). From that moment, our lives changed forever, but so did our hope, and our trust in the incredible team at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

At just 12 weeks old, Ram underwent open-heart surgery. Thanks to the expertise of his surgeons, the compassion of his nurses, and the support from Children’s Hospital Colorado, Ram made it through—and today, as a 14-month-old, he is a goofy, loving, energetic boy who brightens every room with his big, toothy smile. His resilience inspires us every single day, and we are endlessly grateful for the gift of his healthy and bright future.

That’s why, as a family, we are walking in the Denver Congenital Heart Walk—not just for Ram, but for every child who faces congenital heart disease. But we can’t do it without your help.
