We are participating in the Children's Heart Foundation Congenital Heart Walk again this year to raise money to advance the diagnosis, research, and treatment of congenital heart defects.

Our son, Emerson, was born with double inlet left ventricle (DILV), and has undergone 3 surgeries so far. The cause for Emerson's condition is unknown, and we have been told it's just a fluke. He will be having a 4th surgery, the Fontan, later this Summer/early Fall. More research and treatment options are needed for his condition and other single ventricle defects (as well as for all other CHDs), as even after all of these surgeries, he will not be cured and is expected to need a heart transplant at some point in his life. We are hopeful that this funding will help new medicinal advancements to be available to Emerson in the future.
