Did you know 1% of babies in the US are born with a Congenital Heart Defect? Our son, Alexander, was born with a few! One of them being Coarctation of the Aorta (COA).

Some babies are diagnosed in utero,  shortly after birth, or in our case, late enough for it to be emergent and life-threatening. AJ received life-saving heart surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital at 4 weeks old. 

 On May 17th we will be doing the New England Congenital Heart Walk to raise money for the Children’s Heart Foundation. 

Our goal is to raise money for research to help with earlier diagnosis, more newborn screening tests for CHD, treatment and hopefully one day prevention. No family should have to go through what we did.
