As a mom to a heart warrior this walk is close to my heart. My 3 year old son was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and is undergoing a 3 stage restrictive heart surgery. He has spent a lot of time in the hospital and has had 2 or his 3 open heart surgeries- with his 3rd one coming up this summer. The children's hospital (both here in Maine-Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, and in Boston-Boston Children's Hospital, has really helped him, and us, on his journey so I always want to support The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals along with The Children's Heart Foundation when I can. My commitment to making a difference along with being a mom to a heart warror has led me to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for me. It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward changing lives. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
