Jackson is a thriving nine-year-old who just finished up a season of hockey with his teammates. He plays hard, strives to do his best, and is athletic and smart. When Jackson was born and diagnosed with CHD and huge holes in his heart, we were not sure what his future would hold. We were anxious new parents who were completely overwhelmed and didn't know where to turn. Luckily, the CHD community enveloped us with love and support. We are lucky to live outside of Boston and have access to the country's most incredible children's cardiac medical care. It is not an overstatement to say that Boston Children's Hospital and Dr. Christopher Baird saved Jackson's little life seven weeks after he was born by performing open heart surgery. We are thankful to the CHD community, the life-saving research and support that the CHF provides, and we walk in remembrance each year of the Heart Angels that live in their family's hearts forever.
