I started this fundraiser to honor our handsome, strong, heart warrior son Anthony Joseph.
We started a Team called Anthonys Heart throbs! We will be walking on September 28th in Staten Island at 10 am. You can register for the walk and join our team on this link! Everyone is welcome! We hope you can join us for the Walk and be apart of Anthony's Heart Throbs
When I was pregnant, I found out at 20 weeks in-utero that Anthony had a Hypoplastic Transverse Arch, a Coarctation of the Aorta and a Ventricular Septal Defect and would need surgery when he was born.
He was born on August 31st 2023 and underwent a successful open heart surgery on September 6th, 2023.
Anthony underwent surgery at Cohen's Childrens Medical Center and received the most amazing care from his doctor's and nurses. We could not have been happier with the care he received. Within a few days after his surgery our amazing strong boy was able to come home. The doctors and surgeon couldnt be happier with the progress he was making and were ready to send him home with us.
Before Anthony was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Defect, We were not aware of the statistics on children born with CHD's. More research is needed to find out the causes of these defects and how we can prevent and care for them in the future.
Our commitment to making a difference has led us to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for not only us as his mother and father but our entire family and friends. It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward changing lives. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
