Ace’s Story

Hi everyone! Thank you for taking a moment and donating to this special cause.
 

This year for the first time we will be participating in the Cogenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for me. Ace was diagnosed with a large VSD at my 18 week anatomy scan. At the fetal echocardiogram, we knew the VSD would need to be fixed but we never imagined the severity of that and what it meant at that time. When Ace was born they checked his heart and all was okay. He was a happy, healthy little boy ready to take on the world. Within the week, Ace heart started to fail. He stopped eating and his skin started to turn a purplish color. We brought him right to ER where they diagnosed him with coarctation of the aorta along with having the hole in his heart. We were transferred to Kravis Children's Hospital in the city. Within the week Ace was having open heart surgery to repair his heart and aorta. 

We are extremely lucky to have had the amazing care we did at Kravis Children's Hospital. From the surgeons, doctors, and nurses everyone was simply amazing. 

This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
