Rylee's Story

I want to express my heartfelt thanks for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page.

Our family's participation in the Congenital Heart Walk is very important to us. 

Our youngest daughter, Rylee, was born with two congential heart defects; two VSDs and a coarctation to her aorta. We were unaware of these defects until she was born. At 5 days old, she underwent open heart surgery. This was probably the scariest day of our lives. However, thanks to the surgeons, doctors, and nurses on staff the the research from Children's Heart Foundation her surgery went smoothly with no issues. The Children's Heart Foundation even provided resources to help our 4 year old understand what was going on. They sent us home with a book, hospital pictures, and a matching heart to the one that was with Rylee while she stayed in the hospital.

Rylee was finally able to come home at 12 days old. 

Rylee did have to have a cath procedure due to scaring from the surgery on the aorta and to widen the bands at 4 months old.

We are so blessed to be able to say she is living a happy, normal 1 year old life. She loves her big sister, Mickey Mouse, and mermaids.

This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
