Our daughter, Eliza, was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). TOF is a rare congenital (present at birth) heart condition made up of four related heart defects:

1. A hole between the lower chambers of the heart (ventricular septal defect).

2. A narrowing of the pathway from the heart to the lungs (pulmonary stenosis).

3. The main artery (aorta) sitting over both lower chambers instead of just the left (overriding aorta).

4. A thickening of the right lower heart chamber (right ventricular hypertrophy).

These changes affect how blood flows through the heart and to the rest of the body. Babies and children with TOF often need surgery early in life, and with treatment, many go on to live full, active lives. She has already shown incredible strength and bravery, and we are so proud of her resilient little heart.

This year, our family is walking to raise awareness and funds for life-saving research, treatments, and support for kids like Eliza.
