In honor of our sweet boy, I am deeply committed to advancing awareness for congenital heart disease. Our son's annual CHD walk is swiftly approaching, and it is thanks to the generous contributions, invaluable research, and the exceptional medical staff at our local medical center that we find ourselves where we are today.

For those who may not be aware, my son was diagnosed with D-TGA mere hours after his birth, catching us completely off guard as there were no indications of any heart complications or defects during my entire pregnancy. He was immediately transported life flight to the downtown medical center and, within a week, underwent major open-heart surgery to correct his arterial alignment. (At that time, his heart was no larger than a walnut.) His journey serves as a testament to the unwavering faithfulness of God and the incredible wisdom, talent, and dedication of the nurses, doctors, and surgeons who cared for him.
Exactly one month from today, we will gather for a CHD walk at the Houston Zoo, YEAR 2 ?.
